Though relatively new to stand up comedy, Gus Lynch has spent the last decade and a half entertaining people on stage, screen and television. After making his big screen debut in Saving Silverman, Gus has gone on to appear in nearly two dozen feature films and television series, most notably North Country, Dark Angel, I Spy, and Halloween:Resurrection.
Rising from the ranks of the open mikers like a people's champion, Lynch has now brought his considerable bulk to bear on the stand up stage. His act is made up of skewed reflections on his decidedly odd double life. By day, a stay at home dad, raising two children in a blandly pleasant suburban home. By night, stalking the comedy and rock clubs. Drinking too much, rocking too hard, and laughing too loud.. Irish to a fault, Gus is a believer in the old addage, "There's no problem in the world that can't be forgotten with more whiskey."
LAUGH.ROCK.REPEAT., his monthly showcase of Minneapolis comedy and rock, has been dubbed "Dive bar Vaudeville" by the critics, and has garnered a reputation as one of the most raucous shows in town. It's a hilariously violent collision at the crossroads of his most fervent passions: Comedy. Rock n Roll. And The Twin CIties of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Gus Lynch is also an award winning actor on regional theatre stages, having appeared on the Guthrie (His Girl Friday), Ordway (Dinah Was), and Jungle (MacBeth, Lobby Hero) stages, among countless others.
Who he's worked with:
Jack Black. Owen Wilson. Crispin Glover. Robert Townsend. Frances MacDormand. Charlize Theron. Jessica Alba.
"...hulking, cocky...an unqualified joy to watch"
--Dylan Hicks
What the critics are saying:
"Imposingly funny...a hulking, enthusiastic sociopath...Lynch is nothing short of terrifying."
--Quinton Skinner
That's right, he's been referred to as "hulking" by two different critics. A fact he is perhaps too proud of.
